Apple Unveils 'Scary Fast' Event for October 30: Anticipated M3 iMac and MacBooks
Amidst swirling rumors of a forthcoming Apple product announcement, the tech giant has finally revealed the date for its next event. And don't expect a casual "Good morning" from Tim Cook this time.
Apple recently shared the invite for its "Scary fast" online event, scheduled for 5 am PT on October 30. The event appears to be primarily focused on Mac-related announcements. The Apple logo on the invite transforms into the Finder icon found on macOS, and the event name, "Scary fast," hints at a potential release involving the M3 chip.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the event's focus will be on the M3 series MacBook Pro. Kuo suggests that this move is aimed at boosting MacBook shipments, which experienced a decline in 2023. He noted, "I believe this is why Apple may prefer to launch the M3 series MacBook Pro even when its production volume is still low rather than continue to ship the M2 series MacBook Pro. Theoretically, the M3 should offer a more significant boost in computing power."
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in August that Apple has been testing M3 Max and M3 Pro 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Additionally, Apple has been planning an M3 iMac. According to Gurman, no significant design changes are expected apart from the chip upgrade.
While it seems highly likely that Apple's announcement will involve the introduction of its third Apple silicon, nothing is confirmed until Apple officially announces it
For viewers in India, the event can be watched at 5:30 am on October 31. It will be available for live streaming on Apple's official website and YouTube channel.
Furthermore, Apple will release its quarterly results on November 2, marking the first time since 2018 that the company has done so in early November, as they typically release financials in late October.
